As women, we pride ourselves on taking care of others. We commit ourselves to our partners, our best friends, our colleagues, our extended families, our neighbors– the list goes on and on. We show love & respect by being there for them & following through on commitments. We work to understand the nuances of their days and react by cheering them up when things look down, celebrating when life is good or bolstering self esteem when fear starts taking over.
We listen, we care, we pay attention.
And this is a good thing. Having caring, committed relationships (as long as they are reciprocal) help us navigate our lives with support and meaning.
We had a great morning on Saturday exploring “Slices of Life” during a Joy 101 class. Did you miss it? Not to worry- I had such great feedback about the theme & activities- that I will definitely hold the class again in January.
In fact, let’s make it official. The next Joy 101 class covering Slices of Life will be… um, let me check my calendar… Okay! Thursday, January 8th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Done and Done. I would love to see you there.
So what did we do during class?
I’m a dreamer. I love imagining my big, bright, wonderful future. And I absolutely believe there is value in having those visions as a source of inspiration & motivation. That said, being a dreamer can also be a hindrance to actually living that big, bright, wonderful life. At least in my case…
