Molly, the event was awesome, and it was so great to see all these gutsy gals in one place! Gutsy to me means not being afraid to try something new, especially if it's outside of your comfort zone. The best things have always seemed to be those which I was a little afraid to do - whether in work or in life! I never thought I'd start my own marketing consulting business Red Slice (www.red-slice.com), but then I did and I'm loving helping entrepreneurs create their new companies or spruce up the brand and messaging of the ones they already have - they are a constant inspiration. If I didn't have the guts to leave my well-paid corporate software career on the back burner, I never would have met these amazing women - or you! I have another friend who decided to go with another couple to a house they rent in France. She and her hubbie don't know them that well but had an amazing dinner with them - and they also differ from them politically. It is totally outside of her introverted comfort zone so that is exactly why she is doing it. She's bringing adventure into her life. Now that's gutsy! That's exactly what I did; I was interviewed and received my position on the Student Events and Activities council where we put on events for students by the students.
