It’s has been (and will continue to be) a wild ride.
2006: Having done everything “right,” I found myself at 26 with an unfulfilling job, swimming in debt to my Ivy League education, and continually frustrated that I didn’t feel like “me” anymore. Talk about the Quarterlife Crisis!
2007: Not knowing what to do or who to turn to, I set out on a 10 month trip around the world (backpack & boyfriend in hand) determined to learn all I could about my best life and real joy. Several journals, mentors, meditations and adrenaline rushes later— I felt confident that I’d found my way back to the authentic path. And I was 100% inspired to help others get there as well.
2008: The learning I delved into as I created Stratejoy turned my living room into a who’s who library of personal development gurus, positive psychology researchers, happiness bloggers and women entrepreneurs.
I was living and breathing goal-setting methods, peak performance motivation, deliciously juicy copy-wring and life design techniques.
Studying “happiness” was a full time job!
Eventually, I felt like I’d distilled the best of the best. I created this website. It went live and I started blogging. I pulled together my experience of “conquering the Quarterlife Crisis” with all the research I’d done to create an bold, effective, affirming process to produce change for my clients. To produce change for YOU.
2009: Stratejoy, Inc was officially born! I started teaching workshops, booking speaking engagements, and coaching clients. My fabulous interns and I spent the entire summer producing the online Joy Equation Course and launching Season 1 of the Stratejoy Bloggers.
I realized that running your own business on a shoestring budget was ridiculously hard and incredible at the same time. I understood, at a very deep level, that I was doing exactly what I was meant to do. I had found my path, and with all the courage I could muster, was helping others do the same.
2010: It’s a bright, shiny new year with lots in store. Lifestyle Design Workshops are rockin’. Season 2 of the Stratejoy Bloggers has gone live. My coaching clients and I are really making some amazing progress creating lives they love. The online Joy Equation Course is inspiring women all over the country. I’m going to be producing Gutsy Girl events in San Francisco and Washington DC. 2010 is my year, baby!
The real question: How will you be involved this year?
