4 Week Group Coaching with Molly Mahar of Stratejoy
- “Molly, how did you find the courage to put yourself out there like you do? I have so much fear, and I adore and envy your fearlessness and ability to just *do* things. I’d love to hear more about the process you use for that kind of stuff.”
- “Could you share some strategies for listening to my “gut” or instincts? How do I be brave and make my own choices, without seeming self-absorbed?”
- “Molly, what steps can I take to get past the fears and caring about what people think of me?”
- “Why is my biggest fear is putting myself out there, Molly? How did you get past that?”
- “Help! I think I’m waiting for Super Me to find her way up. I know I need to just *be* Super Me, but I’m not sure how to get there. I’m waiting for awesome but I need to create it.”
And then I sent out a survey and hundreds of fabulous (you know, talented/gorgeous/kind) women answered and said *THIS* was what they were struggling with the most…
Biggest Struggle: Wanting to do something “more” or “bigger”.
I saw a connection.
When we want to do something “more” or “bigger” but are held back by fear of putting ourselves out there, we are going to be trapped in a cycle of unfulfilled desire. When we care too much about what others might think of us, we’re not going to make the changes or take the risks that are necessary to put your brilliance out in the world or simply be comfortable in our own skin. When we are waiting for a better, braver, more awesome version of our self to appear, we’re going to hold ourselves back from fully loving our current self.
And that sucks. Seriously.
I know you have brilliance to share with the world. I know that just being comfortable with yourself, honestly and authentically, in your day-to-day interactions can make a difference. I know that you can love yourself in this very moment, mistakes, quirks, fear and all. I know that cultivating an inner resilience and sense of self worth is the springboard for “more” and “bigger.”
I also know that your fear of putting yourself out there can be combated with some very specific training around two concepts:
How do I know this? Fierce Self Love and Inner Confidence have been hard fought battles for me too.
I always tell my biz coaching clients that for the first year or two of Stratejoy, I cried at least every three days because I was scared. And stuck. And doubting my abilities to create the community I was imagining. Half my “working on my business” became “working on myself” so I could get really comfortable with putting myself out there, time over and time over.
And guess what? It may not always be easy, but I have become a gutsy (and lucky and grateful) woman, wife, coach and entrepreneur because I spend time building my self love and inner confidence.
I feel capable of “more” and “bigger” because I am intimately familiar with my Negative Nellie and her committee. I realize that my worth as a human being isn’t dependent on my bank account or how many friends I have on Facebook. I have a strong, deep current of self-love that sustains me. I have confidence in myself because I developed it through many small trials and practice. I still spend time every day connecting with my self love and confidence by using the techniques I want to share with you in these small groups.
Of course, I’m not perfect at it. But as I was telling my friend Jenny yesterday, it gets easier and easier. Sometimes I forget how far I’ve come!
I want the same thing for YOU.
“I don’t know if this qualifies as a testimonial or simply a song of praise, but I sort of can’t get over the work you’re doing. When I first encountered Stratejoy I barely knew which way was up in my life – I had a long way to come before even admitting I could accept some help. Now, as I’m in the middle of my second course with you – I am frankly blown away. I really just want to tell you that I believe you have a GIFT for this work and I am SO grateful that you are sharing it with us out here in the world. You take these ideas that I have read and seen before and you crystallize them into something real, workable, and meaningful. I can’t thank you enough – nor do I really know the right words to thank you as deeply as I’d like to.I am so grateful for you and the work you do.” Dominique, 26, Brooklyn – PYOT alum, Nonprofit Online Marketeer, Avid tweeter & Baker
“After a rough January, I knew I needed something to boost my confidence and get me back on track. Molly’s “Put Yourself Out There” group coaching was just the thing. Starting the week with Molly and the other girls in my group set a tone of positivity, reminded me of what I want, and gave me the tools I needed to break through my dark cloud. I was more productive in the month of February than I had been in a long time. Not only that, I just plain felt better than I had in a long time. Thank you, Molly, for your enthusiasm, for your acceptance (and gentle nudging when needed!), and your amazing coaching.” Keely, 25, Los Angeles – Realtor by day, planner of adventures & aspiring writer by nightWhy Groups?
Short answer? I love leading groups because they are supportive, joyful, and hotbeds of connection and learning.
Long answer? I know (from experience teaching many Fierce Love groups) that you are not alone and there’s comfort in hearing that other women struggle with the same things that you do. I know that committing yourself to change is easier within a group setting, especially for us uber-connected Millennials. With group coaching, you get a tight knit community in which to share struggles, celebrate wins, and be held accountable.
I know that sometimes you want more attention than online courses with their do-it-yourself work and huge forums can offer! (Note: I love online courses. It’s just not the format for this particular topic.)
My groups are small enough that everyone gets one-on-one attention from me on each call.
And bonus! You save $451 in group coaching vs. 1-on-1 with me for the 4 weeks. But if you want me all to yourself, we can do that too…
Why Stratejoy?
If you’re looking for positive women in their 20s and 30s who are interested in personal development and growth, without putting on airs or bullshitting about their perfect lives, you’ve found the right place. We get real. It can get messy. There’s always laughter and sometimes a few tears. You’ll get off your call each week feeling stronger and motivated to tackle the challenges ahead.
Warning: I swear a bit. I sing little ditties about money and meditation. I laugh with you. I cheer you on, but call you out when necessary. I ask you to love yourself even when you don’t think you’re deserving of love. I share personal stories. I ask you to share yours.
4 weeks of Fierce Self-Love and Rockin’ Confidence Coaching
Who is this for? You are seeking a strong connection to your true self and confidence to share that with the world. You want to wake up feeling less anxious and fearful. You want to put yourself out there in your job, in your relationship, in your business, in your family. You need support and specific guidance and practices on how to do it without caring so much about what others might think. And you don’t want to do it alone!
“Molly and her fabulous PYOT course did a lot more for me in the 4 weeks than I had anticipated. When I joined, I was constantly comparing myself to others and putting myself down for not being as “accomplished”. Little did I realize, I WAS just as accomplished, only I was too busy throwing mental temper-tantrums about other peoples victories that I wasn’t celebrating my own; Molly helped me open my eyes and see that. Now I am aware when I am comparing and have techniques to use to help me move past it and focus on all of the great things in my own life. The group of girls in my course were amazing, and words can’t even describe how fabulous Molly is. One conversation with her and you know with 110% certainty that coaching was what she was born to do.” Jennifer Edwards, 27, Connecticut. Blogger & Community Manager.
“After reading the Stratejoy blog for about a year, I decided to take the plunge and try out Molly’s coaching for myself. I have experienced a huge return on my investment with this commitment… Molly knows the right (though sometimes hard) questions to ask — expertly marrying challenge with encouragement and compassion. The group environment allowed for me to learn from other women and added another layer of accountability to our coaching assignments. Because of Molly’s guidance, I have come to believe in the beauty and strength one finds through vulnerability and have begun to practice that courageous honesty in my daily life.” Michelle, 22, Philadelphia. Soon-to-be college grad, grammar nerd & new rock climbing convert.

“Hi Molly! I was in your PYOT Tuesday group a few months back and just wanted to send you a quick note and update. When you challenged us to do something in-line with owning our brilliance, I challenged myself to apply for a regional leadership program. Well, I just found out that I have been accepted! I wanted to thank you because I’m not sure I would have applied if I wasn’t participating in the group (instead, I would have told myself that I wouldn’t be accepted anyway or wasn’t successful or professional enough to participate). Additionally, the old me would of convinced myself that it was too expensive, or required me to take off too much time for work. Instead, I embraced the position knowing that it is a great opportunity and something that aligns with my long-term personal and professional goals!
Between the Joy Equation and PYOT Group, you have truly changed the way I think about myself and my life. You are doing amazing work and I am proud to be a part of it.
Much Love! Jillian, 28, New Hampshire. Marketer, volunteer, & gardener wannabe.
Hi Molly-Hope you are doing well and settling into your new digs in San Diego! I can’t tell you how much I miss our Fierce Love Group. I keep looking in my piggy bank hoping some extra money will show up and I can do another group call soon.
In the meantime, Joy Joice has been keeping me on my toes and I absolutely love it.
More than anything I just wanted to take the time out to say THANK YOU. I had a little a-ha moment this evening, and I can 100% credit it to you. I’m currently in San Francisco for work, which brings up that awkward question, “what do I do for dinner?” My previous work trips I’ve either ordered room service, skipped a meal, or took McDonald’s to go (true story: my first time ever out of the country was last month, and my very first meal on foreign soil was McDonald’s… and I hate McDonald’s). After having an internal struggle this afternoon over public transportation (I kept getting lost), I was able to accept and release the fact that I was lost and looked lost to all the local people (so what!) On the heels of this small success I marched into a local restaurant, plopped myself down at a table, ordered dinner and a beer, took out my book and starting reading– soon after I was immersed in the book without a care that I was alone, at a bar, with a book.
Ding, ding, ding! I finally took myself on my “date” you assigned to our group five months ago! Granted, it was somewhat forced- but it didn’t kill me. In fact, I enjoyed it. Ever since our six weeks of group calls, I’ve slowly started to feel myself come into my own. I’ve been giving less credence to what my “LA” friends think, or if I have my Dad’s approval, etc. I started visualizing what I wanted in my job– a chance to travel, increased responsibility, a managerial role, and I’ve gotten all those things in the last month alone (not quite a manager, but I do have an intern).
I think I still have a long ways to go–but I can’t imagine where I’d be if I hadn’t found Stratejoy. It’s one thing to read the blogs, and see each Season of bloggers go through radical changes…and quite another to live the changes. Truly life-changing, one little piece at a time.
So again, from the bottom of my heart— thank you!!!
-Amanda

“Because I’ve been in this group of supportive, gutsy women, I have become braver opening up and speaking what’s on my mind to people in my life. I have learned to make space and time in my life for me and that makes me stronger and more me. Both of these things will carry on much longer than this class and for that I am so grateful.” Erin, 26, St. Louis. Virtual Community-Builder, Foodie, & Aspiring Creative
“I definitely know that this course has been great in that it has led me to closely examine my habits, my dealings with others, my motivations, the excuses I make…. It has helped me to stay accountable for myself. And that is really important– to know that I am truly responsible for my lifestyle and what I let rule it. I’ve enjoyed the challenges and hearing the advice and feedback from you and the other women. And it’s been fun!” Jackie, 26, Detroit. Novelist in-progress & classic rock junkie.
